Adding individual emails in Publicize | Settings?

Hi Tom,
I have a reader who would like to be notified when I post a new "essay" (actually a blog post). In Publicize | Settings, my alerts currently go to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ but I don't see a way to add individual email addresses. My reader doesn't want a "subscribe to" button, even if I knew how to do that, but I'm stumped for how else to let her know something is now posted.
Is what she would like possible in GeneratePress templates or even in plain WordPress?

Hi Shirley,
I think you would have to set that up in something like MailChimp or Feedburner using your RSS feed.
If you Google "wordpress notify subscribers of new post" you should find a lot of options :)
