Adding (ex. VAT) text in cart and checkout

Not 100% sure it is a GP theme thing, but hope you can help me out.
I have a shop and use Woocommerce and my prices are ex VAT.
I'd like to make that more clear to my customers on the Cart and Checkout pages. See attached mockups.
Unfortunately I have not been able to find the hook I need.
Is is possible what I want and how to approach this?
If it is out of GP scope, let me know, then I'll check other sources for help.

Thanks a lot David! That really helps.
Now I just need to find out what filter and code to add for the shipping costs and then it's perfect.
It was there too, I assumed it would be different since I use a table rate shipping plugin. But the shipping code works too.
