ADDING A SORTABLE/FILTERABLE ARCHIVE

I'm trying to work out what would be the best way of adding a sortable/filterable archive section to my new site: httpstest.thelitsalon.co.uk/ on a separate page
like this example built using Divi on the current site:
https://www.litsalon.co.uk/all-past-salons/
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Something like this might help as well:

Hi Cristiano and Leo,
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I've found a way of doing it using WP Showposts that may be simpler. I'll try and report back!
Thanks again,
Nicky
Sounds good :)
I hope it will be and I'll let you know!
I know WP ShowPosts stands alone from GP, but I wonder if you can help as I'm using them together. As discussed above, I'm using ShowPosts to filter blog post content onto another page, this means adding new posts with new categories. I have added the new categories on the blog itself, but only the older categories are showing on WP ShowPosts when setting up lists, any idea how I can get them to appear on ShowPosts too?
Thanks
Nicky
I still haven't succeeded in getting the additional categories created on the blog page in GP Pro to transfer to WP ShowPosts. I've also tried adding tags and the new tags don't register on WP ShowPosts. I wonder if I'd have more success using the paid-for 'Pro' version of the plugin?
hi Nicky,
WP Show Posts Pro doesn't have this functionality. And I'm not exactly sure if there are any stand-alone WordPress plugins that have both Filterizr-like options with AJAX functionality on top of it.
These kinds of things normally come packaged within page builder plugins like what Elementor's Portfolio widget and Divi's post/portfolio widget.
Hi Elvin,
The mystery is that the categories and tags imported from the original blog (constructed in Divi) have transferred to GP Pro and can be sorted in WP ShowPosts, but the new categories and tags added to the blog in GP Pro itself won't read across to WP ShowPosts. From what you say I'm going to have to use Elementor to generate a portfolio within GP Pro?
It would be helpful if GP Pro did have that functionality - perhaps in the future?
Thanks,
Nicky
I wouldn't recommend using Elementor just for this unless you can't find a plugin solution that works.
Things like AJAX filters require quite a bit of code so it's not something we'd add to GP as there isn't a high demand for it.
We try very hard to keep GP lightweight and non-bloated by only adding options that are useful for the majority of our users.
Thanks Leo, I'm wondering whether I should reload the blog from Divi on the current site having added the new categories I need. It seems logical that those categories and tags will then be usable by WP ShowPosts as the original ones seem to work in the taxonomy spec. The question then is will the new posts I have added (rather a lot of them) load into the reloaded blog. I hope this will resolve the issues.
Hi Leo and co, I'm not sure what happened, but WP ShowPosts is now showing all my categories and behaving as I expected. Thank you for your help.
Glad to hear :)
