when I try adding the download attribute the a button via HTML I get a notive that the block is invalid.
The attribute is not added to the link.
Can you help me out?

Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan,

Are you referring to GB's buttons block?

If so does the same thing happens to the button block from WP?

Hi Leo,
yes, this is with GB's buttons block.
This too happens with the WP button block.

Any way around this?

Dan

Unfortunately I'm not aware of a workaround.

GB pro allows you to add custom attribute:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/custom-attributes/

However, we just discovered that there is a bug that needs to be fixed.

I'd recommend checking with WordPress' support team about adding a custom attribute to the core button block :)

ok, thanks

I think using a custom HTML block to create the button would be the easiest solution for now.

ok, I'll give that a try till core wraps their head around this.

Dan

No problem :)
