Is there any way to add post revions to Elements?
I accidentally saved an Element and I overwrote all the code in the Element. If the Element had post revisions like posts, pages and custom post types, I would of been able to restore my Element.
Any plans on adding post revisions to Elements?

StaffCustomer SupportHi,
This has been asked before and Tom is still working on it.
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/revisions-for-elements/#post-1547550We’ll make sure to mention it on the future version’s changelog once it’s up.
Please look forward to it. 🙂

Another option would be to make the editor behave like the built in WordPress Theme Editor. When the Theme Editor saves your edit, it doesn’t refresh the whole page (probably AJAX) and you can actually command/control z (undo) after you save your edits.

Block Element actually behaves that way.
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-overview/It uses Gutenberg editor to edit it’s layout. Except it doesn’t have the post revision history similar to making posts contents on the default post type. Which I agree, is a good idea to add to this module. 😀
I’ve forwarded this to Tom. Let’s wait and see what he has to say. 😀

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
There are a couple of technical hurdles we need to need to figure out before turning on Revisions. It’s on my radar for 1.13.0 or 1.14.0 🙂

I didn’t realize this about the Block Element. Most of my clients prefer page builders like Beaver Builder or Elementor so I don’t use Gutenberg that often and kind of ignored it.

Great news!

Did this ever get implemented?

StaffCustomer SupportHi Pete,
It’s not implemented yet and Tom has yet to mention any update this as well.
You can try changing the latest updates here and check the changelogs from time to time – https://generatepress.com/category/development/ – to see if/when it gets added. 🙂

I can’t see that’s it’s been added. From Tom’s last reply I assumed it was in development?

StaffCustomer SupportTo add – https://generateblocks.com/generateblocks-1-4-0/ – for GenerateBlocks.

It is but it’s likely pushed to the next versions as there’s a long queue of features to be added.
I’ll tag Tom on this and see if he has updates specifically for this one. 😀

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt hasn’t been implemented, yet. However, it’s still planned (and has a high priority).
