Viewing posts 1–6 of 6

Hello

From my understanding I should be able to add a post archive link to the navigation menu by going to the post section under appearance/menu - go to view all and then there should be an option to add the post archive to the navigation menu - I don’t have that option and I was wondering why - what am I missing.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Hi there,

which post archive are you wanting to add ? By default the Categories should be listed. Tags and other taxonomies will can be set to display by clicking the Screen Options tab at the top right hand corner of the screen.

just the regular posts - no taxonomy archive, just all the posts.

In Settings > Reading you would have set a page to display Latest posts ( aka the Blog ).
You simply need to add that Page to your menu items.

so I need to create a physical page first - that's new to me - I created an elementor archive template that should take care of the post archive page, shouldn't it?

Yes, if you want to add the menu item as a page.

Sorry I'm not familiar with elementor, but from my understanding achieve template is not a page.

1. Add a new page called "Blog" or whatever name you want to use:
https://www.screencast.com/t/YoUtU5GdXyvr

2. Settings > Reading, select "Blog" as your posts page:
https://www.screencast.com/t/O91M9tBt

Then you should be able to see and add the "Blog" page (under pages tab) as a menu item at Appearance > Menu.
