Add Photo to Excerpt on Home Page

On Pathogenews.com, our Home page carries about a dozen post excepts. The resulting look is quite plain.
Each post includes a photo. I would like to reformat the excerpts so a thumbnail of this post photo appears in the Home Page excerpt.
I'd be grateful for any guidance on how to create this look for all excerpts.

The easiest way to modify the look of a Blog page is through a Block Element - Content Template.

Through this functionality, you should be able to design how posts will appear on your Blog/archive pages freely.
