Add Latest Post To Static Homepage

Can anyone help me with this, please? I just want to add a simple thumbnail or display box that alerts the reader to a new post on one of the other pages.

Theres quite a few choices.
If you use the GenerateBlocks Plugin, then you can use its Query Loop block.
And you can find some Free Patterns to copy and paste into your site:

Or if you don't use GenerateBlocks and want something simple then there is the Latest Posts block that is built into WordPress.
