[Support request] Add ID to Search Form Generate Press

Hi Generatepress,

I have been trying to add an ID to the searchform on my website. I’ve looked through the forum but couldn’t find the correct one.

I’m trying to add id=”search” to the search form located on the navigation.

I’ve tried editing the searchform.php but the changes I’ve made is not effecting the site.

Any pointer is greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

you can use the generate_navigation_search_output filter.
Heres an example of it to add placeholder text.
You can use the same snippet to add an ID to the HTML:
