    Hi,

Is there an easy way to add a horizontal menu as an extra widget to the footer? I’m working on a site where I have the copyright on the left and a small social menu on the right, there’s loads of free space in the middle so I don’t want to user the footer widget area. I’ve tried creating a completely new footer in Elementor but I just can’t seem to make it look right (too tall or padding/margin messy)

    Thanks

    Hi there,

You can try using the similar method here with After Footer Content hook:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/split-header-three-sections/

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Leo,

Thanks for the reply, I’ll definitely try that.

Is there a way to add a section between the header and page header that you’d recommend? I’m currently using an Elementor template in the ‘After Header’ hook, but it’s often slow to load so appears for a split second on the right of the screen or with the buttons unformatted.

I’m trying to use Elementor and other plugins as little as possible on this site.

    Thanks

I believe that’s due to Elementor loading the CSS for it in the footer as Tom explained here: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/question-about-hooks-and-my-header-elementor/#post-382818

    Hi Leo,

    Thanks for the reply.

That’s pretty much what I guessed regarding Elementor, and the reason why I’m trying to move away from using all these 3rd party extras.

I’ve created a footer with 3 sections using the method you to linked to above, it looks great on desktop but as soon as the screen size reduces, the 3 sections stack on top of each other but still to the left right and centre πŸ™

    Thanks again

You can use this method so that the CSS only applies to desktop only: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/responsive-display/#responsive-breakpoints
