Add a featured image to my frontpage

Hello,
i am unable to access my frontpage in order to add a featured image, is there any way to assign a featured image to the frontpage/homepage.

Hi there,
Create a Separate Header Element specifically for the front page and add a Custom Background image.
Then edit your existing header and element and exclude the front page from its display rules.
I am a bit of a novice please can I have that in layman’s terms.

Maybe I haven’t explained myself properly, I need an image to show up on the SERPs when my site comes up. Right beside the results, I believe the featured image would do that but i don’t have one on my front page.
You'd need an SEO plugin like Yaost or RankMath to set a specific image to show.
