ACF & CPTUI Fields not Showing Up / Out of Date?

Hey GP Team thanks again for your great help and work. I have a question that i'm not entirely sure is GP related or not.

I have ACF, CPTUI & GeneratePress Child theme installed. I'm attempting to edit the themes PHP files to show ACF fields for a CPTUI post type. I am having ...odd?...success with it.

Basically, I created a single-cave_reports.php file in the child theme cloning the single.php post. I edited the post and it worked...once. To a extent. The initial post in that type showed the ACF fields on the page, but they were out of date and reflected the first ever submission and not any updates ot the acf field data entries.

To make matters worse, no new post in that type shows anything on future pages!

In my investigations I ran across this on the support docs:

And I attempted to do the same, but instead of getting any kind of result, I just got a blank template page showing just the header without any of my custom data and/or HTML put into it. So I feel like I am missing either a setting somewheres in GP or this is a ACF issue. Hoping you fine folks could guide me to the correct way.
