William
Hi guys,
I’m working on my first site dealing with accessibility issues. Not so easy. Right now I’m trying to create a “skip to content” link and just not being successful. Is there a blog post or a procedure for doing that. I’ve tried using hooks… but “no go”.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHey Bill,
This link exists by default.
Looks like it’s appearing directly above your first Elementor section if you view your site elements in developer tools.
Let me know 🙂

Thanks Tom. Indeed I see the link. But when I use google vox to read the screen it never reads that, so the listener doesn’t have the option.
Am I not “getting” how this works?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThat’s strange, does it work on one of our demo sites?: https://gpsites.co/tasty/

Hi Tom,
It DOES work just perfectly for your demo site, Tasty. Maybe I have inadvertently disabled it in using Elementor for the header…? I’ll take a look. Maybe it conflicts with the WP Accessibility plugin I’m trying to use? Don’t know.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt may be worth:
1. Trying with the GP header.
2. If 1 doesn’t work, try disabling the plugin.
Let me know if either of those work 🙂

Success, Tom!
I had to remove that WP Accessibility plugin because it was blocking your Generatepress Skip-Link. Once I removed the plugin, everything works as it should. The plugin is not so awesome that I care. I would rather have the native skip-link working nicely, which it does now. I think most people that need accessibility probably use their computer operating system’s accessibility functions in concert with the theme capabilities.
Thanks!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperNo problem! GP itself should be fully accessible out of the box 🙂

That’s exactly why I used GP for this site… its accessibility. So I’m glad we’ve got it working nicely. Thanks Tom!

The skip link works on google browser when I view your sample site, but does not seem to work in Safari?

Hi David,
Are you referring to this?: https://gpsites.co/tasty/
It seems to be working from my end? Can you try on a different device?
