It’s possible do something similar with GeneratePress without installing plugins?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
The most recent version of GP theme is 1.3.44 and GP premium is 1.2.94 so I would highly recommend you to update both.
This post shows how to make a simple mega menu: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/building-simple-mega-menu/

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIf the mega menu Leo linked to isn’t complex enough, I would suggest a plugin like UberMenu.

What is the best free mega menu that works good with generate press?
One that is easy to use and lets me put simple images into it.
I tried a plugin but it didn’t work.
Thanks for any help.

StaffCustomer SupportHi Rodney,
You could maybe try Max Mega Menu? https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/megamenu/
I’ve seen other users make a decent looking menu with pictures using this plugin.
Not sure if he was using the free or pro version though which is always the tricky part – good plugins with specific features like this usually aren’t totally free.March 12, 2017 at 4:57 pm #290546Rodney
Thanks so much Leo.
I just tried it. Thanks again.

Hi GP guys
I was thinking about a widget enabled slideout. It doesn’t look like you want to add mega menu bulk to GP.
I haven’t tried adding html to the slide out yet and I am not sure I want to …

Hi, Question about the basic mega manu with GP.
I added the CSS and set up demo links…
I have used Elementor theme builder for the header…
Could this be the reason for the mega menu not working?http://a43049-tmp.s504.upress.link/
(site is in hebrew… so I, changed the relevant link to SEEDS)July 18, 2019 at 4:22 am #960946Engelbrecht
Tom, have you thought about adding Mega menus as a feature to premium?
Its very common now and days and it would be increase the value of GP even further. Just a simple version that can be modified easily and that can be toggled on/off for specific menu elements. Just so it doesnt always pop up and we can still reuse the current classic dropdown menu parralle with mega menu depending on the menu. That would be awesome!

StaffCustomer SupportHi Lisa,

Could this be the reason for the mega menu not working.Yes that would likely be the reason.
I would recommend checking with Elementor to see if they have any suggestions for implementing mega menu.

StaffCustomer SupportHi Engelbrecht,
Yes this has been discussed before but we will stick with the simple CSS solution below:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/building-simple-mega-menu/It’s just not popular enough for us to add this much CSS to everyone’s install.

Leo that simple mega menu was useful. Serves the purpose, but when you hover over the grandchild item – the child item gets greyed out. CSS?
