Last week, I felt "am I missing something not using Astra, as I am building my projects with GPP..."
Now, Astra is blocked for 5 weeks.....
I am sure, GP is maintaining all rules of WP Game. And, a note from Tom about new GP 3 gives more assurance about GP's development in future.

Yup GP is following all the WP rules for sure.
GP 3.0 is going to be a big update - we will be introducing the flexbox version of the theme.
Alpha testing should be released once GP Premium 1.11 is stable.
