hi there,
I was so happy finding out about GenerateBlocks. But according to Bluehost it gives problems on my site resulting in the 500 internals server error. i deactivated the plugin and now the site loads fine. When I activate it, it gives the same error. But i really like to use the block editer, also for an other website I'm building. But no I'm afraid it will break that site as well...
I've read al the documentation on your site about internal server errors, emptied my cache and asked Bluehost to give me more PHP space. My error file log in my server is empty. I chatted already 4 times with Bluehost and they tried everything on their end. Help is appreciated!
Hi there,
are you using any re-usable blocks on your site?
Hi David, Yes! I Think I was editing a reusable button at the time.
Can you remove the reusable blocks and see if that solves the issue.
Then make sure you're using the latest versions of GenerateBlocks to rebuild the reusable block.
Hi David, i can not edit any page because then I see the 500 internal server error, so i don't know how to remove the reusable blocs. I deactivated en removed the generatepressblock editor and installed it again, but same issue. If I deactivated the plugin I have no issues on my website. How should I proceed? Thanks!
Temporarily disable the GB Block plugin, create a new draft post, in the block editor top bar 3 dot menu select: Manage all Reusable Blocks. You should be able to delete or quick edit and save them as a draft to disable them.
Then re-enable GenerateBlocks.
Hi David, that worked! Is there any way that I can prevent this in the future? I do like to use re-usable blocks if possible... Thanks for all your help!
You should be fine to continue using re-usable blocks from now.
The issue occurred when WP updated to the latest version. Just try to avoid using one re-usable block inside another re-usable block as this can generate this kind of error.
