I noticed it earlier today, I haven’t changed anything on my website for a couple of days.
    -turned off all the plugins
    -switched the theme
-restored to earlier backup (databases and all)
-loaded clean .htaccess ( RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301])
    -reverted to earlier WP 5.3.3
-tried to publish the new page only to get: “Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response”
-contacted the web-host, they claim that everything is fine on their side (my other website on the same web-host account
    works fine)

Nothing works, please help if you can.

I got this on my site health status:

The REST API is one way WordPress, and other applications, communicate with the server. One example is the block editor screen, which relies on this to display, and save, your posts and pages.

The REST API call gave the following unexpected result: (404)

    Hi there,

try clearing and disabling any cache plugins and then rebuild permalinks by clicking Save Changes in Settings > Permalinks

    Let us know.

    Did that already, didn’t help.

I guess my next step is changing DNS from Cloudflare back to web-host, to see if it is a problem with CDN.

Yup checking with your hosting support would be a good idea.

Tried that, they don’t have the clue

GP itself really cannot cause issues like this.

I would assume the issue remains if you switch to a twenty series WP theme?

If so it really should be hosting side of issue.

You could also consider restoring a backup.

99.99% it’s not GP fault (I’ve never claimed it is), I’ve tried a backup. It didn’t work.

I would escalate the issue with the hosting support.

If you show them it isn’t working in a default twenty series theme, they really need to help you out.
