    Hi there,

    In Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, for me, smooth scrolling is simply adding a slight “pause” before jumping directly to anchor point link, rather than scrolling smoothly to the link.

    In Safari (desktop), the class="smooth-scroll" buttons do not function at all when smooth scrolling option is turned on in Customizer.

    • WordPress is up to date
    • Generatepress, GP Premium, and GeneratePress child theme are all up to date
    • Smooth scrolling is enabled in Customizer settings for GP
    • smooth-scroll class is added to linking element
    • Anchor links are correctly added
    • Network tab shows that smoothscroll.min.js is loading (in footer)
    • Already tried disabling all other plugins to check for code conflicts
    • No server caching or caching plugins active on site

    This is slightly modified code. Is it possible to make search box completely visible – input field with placeholder + search button (search icon as button text)?

    function search_filter($query) {
      if ( !is_admin() && $query->is_main_query() ) {
        if ($query->is_search) {
          $query->set('post_type', 'product');
        }
      }
    }

    add_action('pre_get_posts','search_filter');

    add_filter( 'generate_navigation_search_output', function($output) {
        $output = sprintf(
            '<form method="get" class="search-form navigation-search" action="%1$s">
    			<input type="search" placeholder="Search..." class="search-field" value="" name="s" title="%2$s" />
            </form>',
            esc_url( home_url( '/' ) ),
            esc_attr_x( 'Search', 'label', 'generatepress' )
        );
         return $output;
    } );

    Topic: Search Box with input field and button

    in forum Support

    Hi there,

    Currently, search on my website shows only icon and when the icon is clicked, it activates the search functionality. I need complete search box to be displayed (input field with placeholder and search button with icon as “button text”).

    My current PHP for search:

    function search_filter($query) {
      if ( !is_admin() && $query->is_main_query() ) {
        if ($query->is_search) {
          $query->set('post_type', 'product');
        }
      }
    }

    add_action('pre_get_posts','search_filter');

    add_filter( 'generate_navigation_search_output', function($output) {
        $output = sprintf(
            '<form method="get" class="search-form navigation-search" action="%1$s">
    			<input type="search" class="search-field" value="%2$s" name="s" title="%2$s">
            </form>',
            esc_url( home_url( '/' ) ),
            esc_attr_x( 'Search', 'label', 'generatepress' )
        );
         return $output;
    } );

    Hey!

    How to insert space between the share buttons and the post date?

    See how close they are:

    Hi Ying,

    it was the single post page and I meant really the buttons. Your idea was good, but I could not exclude the buttons with this selector. Instead I added a few line and targeted the gb-button-wrapper class, which solved the case. Can it be that the button in Generate Blocks behave slightly different than simple buttons?

    Anyhow, this issue is solved. Thanks for looking!

    Thank you. Leaving the read more text blank will the alignment of the buttons not work anymore. My code snippet was not quite correct. The if-clause included the excerpt itself, what was not intended. This snippet now works:

    add_filter( 'wp_trim_excerpt', 'tu_excerpt_metabox_more' );
    function tu_excerpt_metabox_more( $excerpt ) {
    	if ( is_front_page() ) {
    		    $output = $excerpt;
    		return $output;
    	}
    	else {
    		  $output = $excerpt;
    			  if ( has_excerpt() ) {
    				  $output = sprintf( '%1$s <p class="read-more-button-container"><a class="read-more button" href="%2$s">%3$s</a></p>',
    					  $excerpt,
    					  get_permalink(),
    					  __( 'Readmore', 'generatepress' )
    				  );
    			  }
    			  return $output;
    	}
    }

    Not quite sure whether this issue is related to GP or WP show posts. I use the code snippet described here to create readmore buttons for custom excerpts. I use WP show posts for the front page. With the snippet active the readmore button appears twice in the WP show posts section. I can fix this like so:

    add_filter( 'wp_trim_excerpt', 'tu_excerpt_metabox_more' );
    function tu_excerpt_metabox_more( $excerpt ) {
        $output = $excerpt;
    	if ( !is_front_page() ) {
    		if ( has_excerpt() ) {
    			$output = sprintf( '%1$s <p class="read-more-button-container"><a class="read-more button" href="%2$s">%3$s</a></p>',
    				$excerpt,
    				get_permalink(),
    				__( 'Weiterlesen →', 'generatepress' )
    			);
    		}

    		return $output;
    	}
    }

    Is there a better way to do this?

    I tried adding the PHP snippet and created social sharing buttons using this (https://www.wplogout.com/create-social-sharing-buttons-in-generatepress-without-plugin/) rather than Scriptless Social Sharing.

    Also disabled featured image and disabled lazy load my photo in the About me section.

    The layout shift has improved on mobile but still has the following:

    Hi there,

    Are you trying to exempt the mentioned button from this CSS?

    button,
    html input[type="button"],
    input[type="reset"],
    input[type="submit"],
    a.button,
    a.wp-block-button__link:not(.has-background),
    .happyforms-styles input[type="submit"]:not(:hover):not(:active):not(.has-background) {
      background: transparent !important;
      border: 2px solid #FF4304 !important;
      color: #FF4304 !important;
    }

    If so, it’s the button selector you have to apply your pseudo class on.

    example:

    button:not(.menu-toggle),
    html input[type="button"],
    input[type="reset"],
    input[type="submit"],
    a.button,
    a.wp-block-button__link:not(.has-background),
    .happyforms-styles input[type="submit"]:not(:hover):not(:active):not(.has-background) {
      background: transparent !important;
      border: 2px solid #FF4304 !important;
      color: #FF4304 !important;
    }

    Or if you want to exclude multiple classes, you can add more :not() like this:

    button:not(.menu-toggle):not(.your-class-1):not(.your-class-2)

    Hi! I am working on a website using Generate Press and Super forms (https://ibsolutions.biz/piesarul is the site) .
    The super form is used in a page called configurator to create a custom request for quotation form.
    I got it to work up to the point where the user can toggle buttons and checkboxes show up based on whether the buttons are toggled on/off.
    However, I want to make it so when a button is on the others are off. I tried my luck with this bit of code:

    $(".super-toggle-switch").click(function(event){
    $(this).addClass("super-active")
    .siblings()
    .removeClass("super-active");
    });

    It didn’t work out. Any suggestions on how to improve it?
    What currently happens is that when the toggle switch is turned on, it is assigned the class ‘super active’.
    Additionally, the button is toggled on, a subordinated div called super-shortcode-field is assigned the value “on” and when toggled off, it is assigned the value “off”.

    Basically, what I am hoping to achieve is that both the value of this class and the class assignment are triggered for one of the toggle buttons at a time.

    I am aware this is not a 100% Generate press related topic, but I am hoping to find some clues here as well. This has been giving me headaches for a while.

    Hello,

    as a header, I wanted to implement this on my site:
    https://github.com/hmongouachon/rgbKineticSlider

    So I made one hook (wp_head) with

    <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/hmongouachon/rgbKineticSlider/js/libs/TweenMax.min.js"></script>
    <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/hmongouachon/rgbKineticSlider/js/libs/imagesLoaded.pkgd.min.js"></script>

    <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/hmongouachon/rgbKineticSlider/js/rgbKineticSlider.js"></script>

    to load all the js stuff and one header element with

    <div id="rgbKineticSlider" class="rgbKineticSlider"></div>

    <nav>
        <a href="#" class="main-nav prev" data-nav="previous">Prev <span></span></a>

    It all looks right to me, but the pictures do not load. The config of the effect is not done I know that, but at least it should show up?

    You could try to replace the current button HTML to this:

    <a class="button" href="your-cutom-link">
    <span class="icon"><svg aria-hidden="true" role="img" height="1em" width="1em" viewbox="0 0 512 512" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"><path fill="currentColor" d="M464 64H48C21.49 64 0 85.49 0 112v288c0 26.51 21.49 48 48 48h416c26.51 0 48-21.49 48-48V112c0-26.51-21.49-48-48-48zm0 48v40.805c-22.422 18.259-58.168 46.651-134.587 106.49-16.841 13.247-50.201 45.072-73.413 44.701-23.208.375-56.579-31.459-73.413-44.701C106.18 199.465 70.425 171.067 48 152.805V112h416zM48 400V214.398c22.914 18.251 55.409 43.862 104.938 82.646 21.857 17.205 60.134 55.186 103.062 54.955 42.717.231 80.509-37.199 103.053-54.947 49.528-38.783 82.032-64.401 104.947-82.653V400H48z"></path></svg></span>
    <span class="button-text">Email</span>
    </a>

    Then add this CSS:

    aside#custom_html-2 a.button {
        display: flex;
        justify-content: center;
        font-size: 20px;
    }

    Let me know 🙂

    Thanks, David

    $elements[] = 'li a[href*="#"]';

    This works, but I guess the limit is that it works only on the list.
    what is if I have a text anchor link or a button as a link anchor.

    the second option, where I would need to add this class than,
    close-fcb-modal

    to the list or link or button?

    the code has more than, one class, in all 3 times i see.
    <a href="#fcb-modal" class="fcb-link-button">
    <a href="#" class="close-fcb-modal">
    and

    #fcb-modal input[type=\"submit\"]:hover {
    		    border: 1px solid {$color} !important;
    	        background-color: {$color} !important;
    		}";

    I guess I find a conflict,
    with my floating button.

     echo ' <div class="fcb-header"><a href="#" class="close-fcb-modal">

    now it jumps up with a button to the top and down with the floating button.
    any idea how I could avoid this? apart css
