I his may not be theme specific but I have Smush and it doesn’t seem to be optimizing my images, at least according to GtMetrix. It keeps telling me to serve optimized images and to use a CDN. I thought Smush does the optimizing for me.
I tried searching in WordPress.org forum and I didn’t have any luck with understanding anything. Any suggestions?

Hi there,
i don’t use Smush – but i think the CDN is a premium option that requires enabling.
Some of the images being reported on GTMetrix are being served from Instagram – which there isn’t much you can do about. The other few images, again not sure but i thought Smush allowed you to increase compression? Albeit for a tiny a saving.Thank you.

So if I originally download a image from Instagram but upload it into my media library…..the image still serves from Instagram?

Heath – that is correct the plugin will always serve from the instagram server not local.
