Hi,
First of all, I love the GeneratePress theme and the premium plugin….. and with BeaverBuilder its all
a winning combination…. 🙂I have a very different question:
I work with non-profits (churches etc.) There is a standard data exchange format for things like events,
people, video talks etc and locations. This plugin allows a church site to change the theme but move data between the themes… So all the events, speaches, people/staff. location data can all be exported to a new
compatible theme. The Plugin is called “Church Content” by ChurchThemes.com….and is in the WP repository. There are a few dozen themes that support the format and it is growing. The problem is the themes are expensive for non-profits and not very flesible…
GeneratePress is such a good themes I would like to know the amount of work to make it compatible with the Church Content plugin… There is a large amount of tools, frameworks, etc. to make a theme compatible. If there is interest I would be willing to donate to an effort to help. I think a good theme developer could do this in a few days since the content plugin has a framework and sample code etc.
This would open a new market for the GeneratePress theme with churches school and libraries etc. and the content plugin is free and the developer is very willing to assist with theme developers.
Thanks for listening and any feedback would be apprciated!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHey Mel,
Are there any specific instructions out there when it comes to making themes compatible with the plugin? It shouldn’t be too difficult as long as they’ve stuck to WordPress standards.
Let me know 🙂

Hi Tom,
here is the WP repository link: Church content plugin
Dev guide: Dev guide
Framework for the theme: Framework for theme
Not sure who would be willing to try this, I would donate some to the cause if that helps!
Thanks

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperAh, that’s definitely a lot to do!
Have you considered using a service like codeable.io? There should be quite a few developers on there with GeneratePress experience that should be able to set it up for you.
Let me know 🙂

Hi Tom,
I will check on codeable.io… The Church content plugin is just a bunch of CPT and taxonomy.
I think the time would be displaying the info in the theme. But like I said alot of the church themes lock you into what they want and your theme is wonderful to use.Do you have any idea about the time and cost to do this if I hire someone?
Thanks again for a great theme and GP Premium….

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHey Mel,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner!
If you’re able to do the CPT and taxonomy stuff, we should be able to help with displaying the data in the theme as long as we stick to one task at a time. Things can get a little overwhelming in the forum if there’s too much going on at once.
Let me know 🙂
