Chris
Love your plugin sir. Is there a way to create category buttons like used on this website – https://demo.themegrill.com/colormag/
And then create posts in a given area by category as well? Thanks!!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHey Chris,
So you’re wanting to add colored buttons for each category on top of your featured images?
And then create posts in a given area by category as well?
Not sure what you mean here?
Let me know 🙂

Hi Tom!
Thanks for responding. Each post in the colormag theme can be assigned a category button. If you look at the slider there are three on the first slide; General, Latest, News. When people click one of the tabs it will pull up stories in that category.
I was hoping that I could use your theme to rebuild this type of site. I built a site off this theme but honestly, GeneratePress would be a Godsend if I could use it for this type of theme.
Thanks for your time Tom!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIt’s possible, but will definitely take some custom coding.
The first thing I’d do is build the color picker inside the admin area. ACF allows you to do this: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/adding-fields-taxonomy-term/
If you want to set that up and tell me the ID you used, I should be able to write up a function to use the colors.
Just leaving this here for future reference: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33520000/custom-field-for-background-color-for-every-category-in-wordpress

Thanks Tom! I’ll see if I’m able to pull it off 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Hi,
I want to implement the same function to my site (I’m using GP with Read theme) Can you help me to do the same with a snippet to get coloured post terms (category and custom taxonomies) over the featured images and below the post title in single.php post pages. I am not using ACF but I use PODS if that’s important.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Any chance you can open a new topic? This one is quite old.
Thanks!
