I have installed Polylang for my GP site. Now having set the header background to a dark blue, when I put a header widget of Polylang: language switcher – it will display its Title in white, what I set my title colour to, but the items (different languages) still display in black, which cannot be read. One would need the header widget’s text colour to be settable but the header widget’s colours are not adjustable up to now as are side bar or footer widgets.

    Hi Marc,

just to confirm are you saying that the title changes to black on the different languages?
This could just be a caching issue, have you tried clearing the browser cache.

    Let me know

    Hi David
I have tried with Firefox (latest) on macOS10.13 (latest), newly started so caches should be clear.
No it is not the title (language) that changes colour, but the items in the list are black below the title (English, Español, Français, Deutsch) next to the flags that I currently switched on so something is visible. The items in the list are black on the dark blue background and almost invisible therefore. If they were white like the title they would be easily readable. So maybe it would need being able to set colours in the heading widget like for the sidebar or footer widgets.

Aah ok, they are links so if you want to target them separately to those used in the body you cans style them in Colors > Header

Perfect – silly me, sorry, thank you – new to WordPress and GeneratePress … On another note how to define set the standard color swatches below the colour selector?

almost everything in GP has a filter including this one for the color palette:

Ok thank you – so I would add this filter how and where? New to using WP … Used to macOS where I would drag the colour to the swatch to change it …

The code is PHP and would be generally added to a Child Themes function file, but for simplicity i would use the Code Snippets plugin mentioned here:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-php/

If you’re not adverse to adding plugins for this sort of thing then this may be the one for you:

Ok Code Snippets would work – probably I’d prefer to add a Child Theme for clarity but need to learn how to do that first.
