Hello and first of all … thanks for this nice theme you created 🙂
I have a questing regarding the loading speed and what I need to customize, because google gives me the pagespeed rating “poor” and as far as I know, the worst part must be the images, that get ‘delivered’ in a wrong dimension. Can you give me a direction, what I can do to get the right sizes in the containers and not the full sizes?The site runs here: http://www.nakieken.de

thanks for your tuning tipps. There is one thing I do not understand. If you are in the (front) view of a category or on the homepage, have a look at the the featured image of any blog article. When you examine the image, you see for example a 1600px image scaled by css to 350px for example. I think there must be a way to optimize that – it is heavy load for .. uhm – nothing. Thats what google shows me in pagespeed. If I only would optimize the images on the homepage (in the resolution), it would save 1.9MB. If there is a user coming on the site with a 3G connection – it takes ‘hours’ for the page to load. Maybe I can change the placeholders somewhere to get the smaller images in the containers, not the full resolution ones. Thanks a lot for your help 🙂Best regards,

The best thing you can do for image performance is to upload the image at the size you need. So in this case, you could resize your images to be 800px wide, then run them through a service like http://optimizilla.com/.
