Hello,
What should I do to have a featured image both for pasts and pages.
A featured image that would be above the content and the right sidebar.
With a fixed width (100%) and a fixed height : 500px

vOh, and also, the really stupid question : my homepage being a static page, where’s my blog page ?I used the Blog Page header for an Event of the Event Calendar : it doesn’t appear……….

Would this be the same featured image/area for all pages or posts? Or different ones for each?
A different one for each page/post (and possibly no image at all), but, within the same area, and having the same size.
If a 100% width is not possible, well, I’d go for an image that has the width of my container (I think it’s 977px).
But I would really prefer if it was above the Content + Sidebar area.
Or, maybe I still need to think about it.
the fact is I don’t quite understand all of the options.
And I still need to understand the difference between the Blog/page header and the Featured image.
And why there’s a whole section about the blog within the Customize page (where I tried to upload an image as image header but it never showed up)
So, for what I understand now,
. there’s a 100 % width Featured image for the pages.
. and one (smaller) Feature image above the content for the blog posts.
Sorry, it took me some times to realize that.
. I could not use the Customising ▸ Blog Page Header Page Header Image
I upload an image that does not appear.. and, I believe I should once again look at one of your videos to figure out the purpose of the Page header Image/Content/Logo of the pages and posts
I was wondering if there’s a way to fix the size of these Featured images?
The Blog Page Header settings only show up on your posts page (blog) set in “Settings > Reading”.
For single posts, you can place your featured image above the content + sidebar by going to “Customize > Layout > Page Header” and setting the single post page header option.
There’s no global sizing options for featured images on single posts yet, but it’s something I’m working on 🙂

About the Blog Page Header, I’ve set an image, but…. it does not show up. Any idea why?

but it doesn’t appear neither,i must have done something totally wrong.

First of all, the image was indeed not there anymore.
1. So I re-uploaded yesterday’s image (it is a 2000 px wide image / height :542 px/ I don’t not what size would be the best)
At first I kept the 1200 px default Width, and indicated 500px for the Height (without pushing on the Apply size button)
The image did appear, within the customizing page and on the blog.
2. So I wrote “Blog” within the Header content, but it did not appear (neither in CP nor on the blog)
3. Within The Page Header Content, I tried to find the other options that I had seen and used yesterday (Background image, Parallax, Full screen, etc), but could not find them.
4. Then I applied Image size (Page Header Image / Apply Image size ) and the image disappeared, but the mention “Blog” appeared
5. I cheked again the Page header Content : the other options had reappeared.
I checked Image Background. Container type : Full width. The image appeared. As well as the <h1> title “Blog”6.
But the image is now too high (way more than 500px) (I know, its’ no good image)I’m pretty sure it will finally work, but, this is what I wish :
I wish the Featured images for the pages and the Blog Page Header had the same width and height
I wish it were Full Width
and approximately 500pixels heightDo you think you could you help me determine the best size of the images to obtain this effect (I thought I would use images of 2000 x 542 px, is it too much)? And also what customizing options I have to use?
If a Full width header image were not possible (with a reasonable/controllable height), I would go for a fixed width, the width of the container, 1180 px.

OKAY. Anyway, it seems a Full width header image for the pages is not possible. Can you confirm this ???
So I think I’ll have to go for a fixed width, isn’t ??
On the other hand,
Do you know whythere’s no image at all above this blog post :the Blog Page Header does not appear (maybe it should not?)
and the featured image does not appear neither.
