Hi,
I’ve just discovered Tom’s GREAT plugin, WP Show Posts. If think it’s a good choice, and that it works well with GeneratePress Premium. It’s helping me a lot and making a great part of my work.
About the Pages, though. I’ve learned here it’s not possible to list the children pages of a parent, so I choose to use Custom Fields, and it works great.
But I have a bit of a problem with the order. It doesn’t take the page order, so I’ve tried the ID, but it did not seem to work. So I chose to order on the slug, but I’m afraid I might have to add or delete a page in the future and then I would have to change the slug, and that doesn’t seem good to me.
Maybe I should try to use the page Ids instead of the Custom Fields…
Any idea, advice?
Or should I talk about this on the WP Show Posts plugin Forum?

Hi Véronique,
I use pages on my site using WP Show Posts and I use the page IDs. If I add a page, I just add the new ID. For ordering, I just manually set the order in the ID comma separated list. Not all that elegant, but unlike posts, pages rarely if ever change that way.
For example, all of the Tutorials on my site use a WPSP page list for each product. When I create a new tutorial, I just add that page ID to the front of the list 🙂 On initial setup for the list, I manually sorted the IDs.

LyleAlso, I wish to preserve the html tags within the excerpts… I’ve tried with a plugin (Advanced Excerpt), it just does’nt seem to work anymore. I’ve tried with a script I found… same lack of result…

is it possible to sort posts by a meta field?
I see many options but no option to sort by a meta field but there is option to filter by meta key and meta data. I need to be able to sort as well as filter. Anyone know how to do this using wp-show-posts.also, i think i am locked out from the wpsh pro website, i tried to login too many times.
