    Hi,

I’m trying as hard as I can every day after work to learn gp/gb. I find what you guys did with the recent update to gp/gb extremely confusing and beyond harmful to ease the learning curve on your product. If you are going to change things so dramatically, be prepared to shove out a boatload of tutorials on youtube or don’t change it at all. The container and the inner container is impossible for me to understand. Can you recreate this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E7zFl678kg

    What happened to editor width?

I need videos as they are the only way to learn. The way the container was done prior to this recent update is very easy to understand. I’m sure I’m not the only one confused.

Beyond frustrated. I’m wasting time with your theme I think.

    Hi Jeff,

We’re sorry you feel this way. We’re trying our best to improve our product in a way that more design/layout would be made possible. Thank you for your feedback. We’ll consider these thoroughly.

We don’t have a video yet for the changes but we’ve released a bunch of new documents regarding these.

For instance, here’s an article with regards to the inner Container: https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/add-inner-container/

For reference, this move related to removing the inner Container by default lessens the markup of the websites of our customers which in return provides a better-performing website. Our goal is to help our customers create websites optimally – performance-wise.

If you’ll have any further questions, we’ll do our best to assist you.

For GB-related concerns, it would be best to raise them here as well: https://generate.support/

    Hi there,

sorry to hear of the frustrations, and we are working on addressing UX changes that are necessary since the latest update.

If the issue is at this stage ( 1min 36s):

    https://youtu.be/1E7zFl678kg?t=96

Where Leo sets both the Container and Inner Container Width to Full.
For that specific tutorial you can simply skip over that.

In the older GB we automatically added a inner HTML container inside every container block. Whether it was required or not. And this Inner Container was never editable aside from that one setting. And by setting both the Container and Inner Container to Full Width it was effectively saying just ignore that inner container.

In the latest GB we don’t add the hidden inner container. We leave that up to the user if they require it. And in this instance it is not.

Does that help for now ?

I understand all that. My point is to redo all the youtube videos so I can learn by copying.
