At 0:48, he goes into preferences and selects custom fields. I don’t see that in there though. How can I replicate that video nowadays?

Hi there,
That’s a WP core option and it’s definitely still there:
https://www.screencast.com/t/yICleEDKIf you are not seeing it, make sure you have the admin access.
If that still doesn’t work, then try disabling all plugins to make sure there aren’t any conflicts.
You can also Google “custom field toggle not showing in preference” to see some other potential reasons.

I disabled Advanced Custom Fields plugin and can see it now. Is this a bug with gp or acf or neither?

Please continue making those gp yt videos since the ones I’m seeing are already out of date.
I would assume it’s intended behavior with ACF activated.
