I tend to be a minimalist when it cones to Fonts. Prior to the last updates all was. going well.

Now I’m seeing these fonts being served:

    /wp-content/themes/generatepress/assets/fonts/generatepress.woff2
    /wp-content/plugins/gp-premium/general/icons/gp-premium.woff

which are slowing the load time by 54ms EACH and are render blocking. CORS is, and has been, properly setup for CDN usage and it is being served via CDN as expected for all fonts.

My Customizer > Typography settings specify Arial fonts and have been for almost a year with these two fonts never appearing in GTMetrix or the Catchpoint Webpage tools.

This is behaving just like the Storefront theme with respect to heavy fonts. So my question is what exactly is calling these fonts and why since I’ve specified Arial fonts in the Typography settings?

I forgot to add that these are the only fonts that show up in the tools I mentioned.

    Hi there,

those are icon fonts, and i am not sure what the metrics testers have against them. But you can do away with entirely.
Go to Customizer > General and set the Icon Type to SVG

Good to know. I’ll test it out and report back.
