    Hi there,

When I try to rearrange colors in the customize area I get an odd behavior where either additional blank color circles are created or an existing one is recreated multiple times, the more I move the cursor the more color circles appear and do not get an option to save. This using your latest and with no plugins activated.

    Hi David,

I should’ve mentioned it in my original post, my apologies. This is happening in FF and Chrome, Mac and only in this particular installation out of many sites using GP. I’m usually able to solve small glitches here and there, but this one has me beat. It is a development account so I can give you access if you want, or provide you with captures/video, just let me know what you prefer.

    Cheers,

    Dan

    Sure thing, here you go:

Feel free to deactivate plugins, etc. I’m stopping development so it is all yours.

    Thanks David.

How odd, I left all the plugins disabled and switched to the GP parent theme, and the issue persists.
Could you delete the GP Theme and reinstall it ?

Nope, no go, same issue after re-installing the theme from the WP repository. This one might go down in history as one of those. I’m going to setup a new hosting sandbox account and start from scratch, that should do the job, I hope. Not sure if you still want to poke around this install in case you run into similar issues, else I’m just going to delete it. Just let me know.

And thanks for y our time David, I appreciate it.

    Cheers,

    Daniel

Are you ok keeping it open ? As i would like to let Tom and Jean take a look.

Sure, I can keep it open for as long as you need. If you want cPanel or SFTP access just let me know. I also took a capture of the current WP security settings from cPanel’s WP toolkit, in case this might help. It’s uploaded via the media or you can see it here: https://sb16.totallygenius.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Screenshot-2023-04-02-at-5.43.30-AM.png These are the same setting with all other installations and they run just fine. Turning on “Disable file editing in WordPress Dashboard” would block PHP from being executed inside an element hook.

I’ll have to activate some plugins in order to export some content but you can deactivate them when/if needed.

I already setup a new sandbox and tracking my steps in case I encounter a similar issue, so far everything is as it should and as per every other install, so I have a feeling this could be hosting related.

Anyhow, hope you can sort it out and let me know if I can be of any assistance.

    Regards,

    Daniel

Hey Daniel, after looking at your site I identified that you had two colors with the same name/slug “global-color-17”. I fixed that for you already, so the re-ordering is working again.

Now, I’ll try to identify how you end up with this duplication, our system does checks not to allow the user to create global colors with the same slug/name.

Have you created all the colors yourself or have you imported them from another site?
Do you recall doing any action/filter with PHP to change the “generate_settings” option in the database?

    Hi Jean,

Glad you were able to find the issue as I would’ve never thought about it.

This site was cloned from another installation that had GP and GPP installed with some those colors already set but I don’t remember if I added other colors after the clone, or maybe I did but was unable, I can’t really remember as it was a while ago. I do know that I didn’t mess around with ā€œgenerate_settingsā€, so at least we know that.

As to the site clone, this was done via Cpanel WP Toolkit plugin. When cloned, the system creates a new database/user and updates wp-config.php, but might not overwrite/replace files inside /public_html/ and never checked, as we always clone to a new install.

I hope this will be of assistance and if you want to test it further I con repeat the same clone process on top of the same existing install. Also you can find information on the WP Toolkit here: https://cpanel.net/wp-toolkit/

Thank you both for your support. I really appreciate it.

    Regards,

    Daniel
