I’m having trouble with blog archive pages that use the Archive Cards element.
It was working fine for my first two blog posts, but for the third one I posted the image is a different size. It looks like it’s the correct width, but not the correct height.
I don’t know why this is happening because I’ve set everything to be a standard size – both width and height. Under Customize > Layout > Blog, all featured images (e.g. under Archive and Posts) are set to 500×500 with a Media Attachment Size of full. Changing these settings doesn’t seem to change the size of the image at all. I’ve also edited the Archive Cards element to make the images 500×500 in that.
Changing any of these things doesn’t seem to fix the issue. I’ve tried setting everything to 300×300 and Media Attachment size of medium, for example, and the issue is still the same.
All the featured images are bigger than 500×500 so I don’t think that’s the issue either. The latest featured image (in the WP media gallery) is 1439 by 758 pixels, the other ones are 960 by 640 pixels and 885 by 586 pixels – all above 500×500 (and well above 300×300) so it shouldn’t have a problem cropping.
I’ve done Purge All on LSCache and I’ve cleared the web and object cache in my host control panel.
Do you know what the issue might be?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
edit the element, select the Image Block that is set to display the Featured image. In its settings give it a
height
that you want ALL images to be and set theObject Fit
toCover
This will force all images to that height… but note that this may involve cropping a taller image to suit.
Ideally it is best practice to upload images of the same size / aspect-ratio for all your images, and that they will just fit.

Unfortunately I can’t seem to find an ‘Object Fit’ option – here’s the settings panel for the image block in the element:

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
What Daivd referred to is the GB image block, not the GP dynamic image block which only works in GP’s elements.

Thanks for the reply.
In that case, how should I go about resolving the issue? The blog/home page uses the Archive Card element, which is using a GP dynamic image block. It’s the size of these images that I want to be standard on the blog/home page – there isn’t a GB image block in there for me to edit, unless I make the homepage static and don’t use the Archive Cards element.

StaffCustomer SupportDelete the GP Dynamic Image Block, and in its place add the a GB Image Block.
In the settings > Dynamic Data set its Content Source to theFeatured Image
And then make the setting changes i mentioned above.April 10, 2023 at 11:24 am #2604472Jacob
Thanks for this (and sorry for the late reply – had to go away for a couple of weeks).
This fixed it!
Thanks again.
