Simon
Hi
I have just imported the “Prime” site design from the Site Library into my WordPress 6.1.1, WordPress Theme 3.3, GeneratePress Premium 2.3 set up.
When I look at my homepage, the Sale Products WooCommerce shortcode is not displaying any products (shortcode block config looks OK when I open the page called “homepage” in the Block Editor)
The other WooCommerce shortcodes (Best Sellers, Featured Products, Recent Additions) seem to be displaying products correctly
Same issue occurred in a previous install I did
Please could you investigate & advise?
Many thanks in advance
Simon

StaffCustomer SupportHey Simon,
I did a fresh install and encountered the same issue.
I then activated a Twenty Twenty One WP default theme and the issue exists there as well – feel free to confirm that.
Unfortunately, the WooCommerce shortcodes is a WooCommerce core functionality so the theme doesn’t have any control over what displays/doesn’t displays:
https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/Can you report this to WooCommerce support team to see if they can offer any advice or perhaps there is a bug on their end?
Let me know 🙂

Hi Leo
Thanks for checking. I don’t have the Twenty Twenty One WP default theme installed any more, but the same issue also occurs in the Hello Elementor theme.
I will try to contact WooCommerce support & let you know what they say
Warm Regards
Simon

Hi Leo
Here is a link to the reply from the WooCommerce free support forum – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/sale-products-shortcode-not-working/
I have not tried to disable all my plugins yet. Perhaps it something you could try on your test install above?

It’s up to WooCommerce support team to determine this issue as we already determined that the issue exists in the default WP theme environment as well:

Hi Leo
RE: we already determined that the issue exists in the default WP theme environment as well:
But presumably you were/are also using the GeneratePress Premium plugin and “Prime” site import?
Otherwise, how are you having a WooCommerce product for the shortcode to find?Simon

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
what happens if you use the basic form of the shortcode:
[sale_products]does anything display then ?March 27, 2023 at 4:44 am #2583861Simon
Hi David
Nothing displays then either.
To be honest, I don’t personally need the shortcode to work at the moment. I was just wanting to make you guys aware of the problem, as I guess it may be some sort of bug/conflict with the “Prime” site demo content, and likely to affect your other customers …?

StaffCustomer SupportThanks for taking the time to feed this back.
It’s very peculiar as i get mixed results.
I’ll do some more testing to see if i can consistently replicate the issue and figure out what is going on.Thanks again

Hi David
Many thanks for your reply. Just one more thing I noticed that might help …
When I try to display a “Filter By Price” widget on the page, that does not show any products.
Either I’ve set up the filter wrongly or it could not find the prices of the products in the “Prime” demo, for some reason (perhaps indicating an issue with the price attribute for the demo products?).Simon

Hi Simon,
Where did you add it? I’m not seeing it on the link you previously shared.

Hi Fernando
Do you mean the “Filter By Price” widget I mentioned? I tried adding it to the left margin of my work-in-progress Shop page at https://isanflowers2.com/shop, but I’ve removed it now

StaffCustomer SupportLet us know if you still have that issue once you have added some of your own products. We can then take a closer look.
