    Hi everyone

I use Disqus on my websites and, up to a few days ago, I had the Disqus Conditional Load plugin installed that allowed to lazy load the comment section when the users were reaching the bottom of the page. That helped me achieve a better score with the core web vital.

Unfortunately, this plugin has a security vulnerability now, and the author has not been active for the past year, so I doubt it will be patched soon. The official Disqus plugin hasn’t been updated in two years, and the other plugins I tried were not working properly for one reason or the other.

I tried to install Disqus manually following the official procedure (replacing the default code found in the comments.php file), and it worked fine.

The question I have is: is there an easy way to implement a lazy load function, or at least to make sure Disqus loads last, once everything else has loaded on the page? Unfortunately, without a solution like this, the page speed drops significantly.

I realise this is not a GP specific query, so I’ll understand if it cannot be answered here.

    Many thanks!

    Mat

    Hi Mat,

I realise this is not a GP specific query, so I’ll understand if it cannot be answered here.

    That’s correct, we don’t support non-GP-related questions.
I would recommend posting this question in https://stackoverflow.com/
