Hello- I am using a template from the site library and the footer default is “Subscribe Now” with some social icons below. I cannot find where to change that other than some odd backend code with lots of path and xlms code. When I try to just add a footer widget with new social icons nothing is displaying no matter what I do.

edit the footer widget, and delete those HTML widgets with the icons inside.
And use the Social Icons block.I tried that but it is not displaying anything, I try editing the colors, labels, everything and nothing will display. I just see the blue pencil icon where the widget should be but it is pointing to nothing and I can get nothing to display.

Do you have the GenerateBlocks plugin installed?
If so, you can use the button block of GB, it has built-in social icons, and you should be fully able to change its color/spacing.
