Junaid
Hi,
I want to show the author’s headline under the title along with author’s name. Author name is already there.
How to do it?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
what is the author headline ?
eg. is it one of the fields in the user profile ?March 15, 2023 at 12:55 pm #2569057Junaid
Not necessarily.
I want to use a dedicated headline under the title.
But if that’s not possible/or easy, then I can go for the user profile bio. You can share both if you have solutions for both.March 15, 2023 at 3:11 pm #2569145Ying
StaffCustomer SupportI want to use a dedicated headline under the title.
What we don’t understand is what does a dedicated headline mean, will it be some static content or dynamic data stored with the author profile?

It will be static and relevant to the author.
For instance, it will appear like this.
Author: Junaid Raza
He is an experienced SEO Consultant, and copywriter, managing multiple small businesses.
Author: Sophia
She is an outreach expert with 5 years of industry experience.
Makes sense?
But once the user clicks on the author profile, the description can be much longer and unique.

StaffCustomer SupportIt will be static and relevant to the author.
Based on your description, the content is dynamic.
It would be the author’s name and a short version of the author’s description.
As you also want to show the full author description, you will need to create a custom field for the users to store the short version of the description that can be pulled dynamically in the posts.
You can use a plugin like Advanced Custom Fields to do so.
Once the custom field is created and filled, we can start the next steps.

Can you give me an example of a static description? I might like that one.

StaffCustomer SupportIs there more than one author ?

Currently one author. But there can be more than one author in near future.

Hi Junaid,
You can use the default field “Biographical Info” if you want.
You can then retrieve it through a Headline Block with dynamic settings.
Just set it to retrieve Author Meta – description.

Do I need to do it for every article manually? I will need to update all the articles for this. Isn’t there a better solution?
March 23, 2023 at 7:46 am #2578791David
StaffCustomer SupportYou can use a Block Element to build your own post meta or author box. And have this dynamically displayed for all posts.
So where do you want the author description to be displayed eg. Single Post in author box below the post content.
March 31, 2023 at 10:23 am #2591002Junaid
I want to put this statement just under the author name : Junaid Raza
Junaid Raza is an SEO consultant and content creator managing multiple in-house and remote teams.
If you open any of the blog post (link added) you can see author name, I want to show statement line under the name. It will appear on all the posts created by this author.
If I added another author, I will use a different statement.
Is this enough to understand the question?
March 31, 2023 at 12:05 pm #2591147Ying
StaffCustomer Support1. Edit the author profile at dashboard > users, fill in the
Biographical Infofield.2. Go to appearance > elements, and create a block element – hook.
3. Add a headline block of GenerateBlocks plugin.
4. Pull the dynamic data as Fernando instructed here:https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/show-author-headline-under-title/#post-2578193
5. Choose
posts > all postsas the element location, chooseafter_entry_headeras the hook name, publish the element. The author bio should show up in your posts below the post metas (date/author)

I have followed your instructions but I can’t see any option to add a headline block in the plugin. There is not such option. As I can’t create it, so I can’t see in the post as well.
