Ella
I’m trying to follow this process: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/ to follow this process: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/copy-an-element-formatting-from-one-theme-to-another/ but when I go to upload premium, it comes back with this:
”
Installing theme from uploaded file: index 2.php.zip
Unpacking the package…Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme installation failed.
”
Can you tell me why this is and what I need to do please?
Thanks,

StaffCustomer SupportHi Ella,
I’m confused. The documentation and topic you linked are completely unrelated.
What is it exactly that you are trying to accomplish here?
Uploading the GP Premium plugin or exporting/importing the Elements module?
Let me know 🙂

The article said I could create a back up site to copy elements. When I go to the themes on my new site I’m trying to add elements into, it says about overwriting the current theme in order to get them which is what I don’t want, so I was trying to create a separate site where I could change the themes and copy elements. Is this not the best way to do it?
Thanks,

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
you would need to create a new site with a different domain name.
Or use a app like Flywheel local ( no account or payment required ) to create local development sites. Then you can import a site from our library, copy what you need and paste it into your live site.March 6, 2023 at 1:06 am #2557032Ella
That’s what I’m trying to do and why I’m trying to make a new site, as explained. But the issue I’m having, is I’ve made the new domain etc, but when I try to upload the GeneratePress Premium plugin, this is what I get:
”
Installing theme from uploaded file: index 2.php.zip
Unpacking the package…Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme installation failed.
”

Actually, think I’ve found it, I think I was installing it in the wrong place! It’s worked now that I’ve tried again today anyway so I’m no longer getting this error message!
