    Hello.

I have a section in my website with a header generated in generatepress elements. That section has anchor menus that work perfectly inside the section, but when accessing any of them from another section it first shows the header image (for less than a second) and then correctly jumps to the anchor. How can I avoid showing the header image?

    Thanks!

*The header has parallax, I have tried disabling it but there has been no change.

    Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the page in question?

You can use the private information field:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information

    Let me know 🙂

    Hi Leo,

    There you have.
As I said, if I use the anchor menu within the page it works fine, but accessing from the main navigation menu it shows the header image briefly first and then goes to the anchor.

    Hi Ying,

There you have it as I see it. I don’t know if it could be due to my browser settings then, could it be?

Thanks for your fast and good support as always

    Hi there,

how has the smooth scroll been added to the site ?

I didn’t add any smooth scrolling, I just did it as I usually do on other websites like https://larumbedanza.com/desarrollo-creativo/, but in the mentioned case, I notice the jump in the header image that I don’t see in the other places.

    OK.
So what you see is normal behaviour when you have anchor links.
First the browser has to load the page.
Once loaded it calculates the position of the anchor link.
The time it takes to do this will depend on how complex the layout is.
Then the browser jumps to that link.

One option would be to use the below plugin for the smooth scroll, as that will scroll down to the anchor link on load, so the effect is not as jarring:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/page-scroll-to-id/

BUT… your site is using Elementor smooths scroll ( which is ALWAYS on ), and that needs to be disabled for that plugin to work. In the past this was not possible, so can you check with Elementor if it can be disabled.

The alternative is to use a page loader that shows some kind of animation until the page can be loaded.

But your best place to start is with Elementor

    Hi David.
I will try some of the options you give me in your reply.
    Thank you so much.
