I’m trying to match a font I have seen on another generate press site. When inspecting the element and look at the font, it tells me the following:
Font family: Verdana, Geneva, Sans-Serif
Which font should I be using and why are there 3 fonts listed? None of these fonts are available within the typography section of my site. I’m using the Explore template.
To explain, Geneva and Sans-Serif are backup fonts in case Verdana doesn’t load.
The font to be used goes from left to right depending on what is able to load.
As to why it isn’t appearing, the ones available in the Typography module are System Stack fonts and Google fonts. You’ll need to host a font locally if it doesn’t exist there. Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/
Verdana is probably pre-installed on almost all Windows machines on planet earth, I guess. Mac machines will probably have at least a good alternative for it. There is very likely no need to host it locally. I’m not even sure that Verdana is available for downloading anymore.
