    Hello,

    Big fan of Generate Press!

I added Mailpoet to my site (with a GP Premium theme + Mellow).

Everything looked great, but now after adding Mailpoet, I am seeing text from the pop-up that is added to the text of a post on the home page.

When I added a new post to test this, the new post also had the text. It gives the first few words of my post, and then says:

    Hi there,

    Can I see the issue?

    Hi Ying,

    Yes, of course.

The post with the issue is “Bamboo.” I pasted the link to the site in the private info area.

I had another post there, just to test, and it also had the issue.

For some reason unknown, the oldest post, “Cli-Fi…” does not exhibit this issue.

    Thanks for taking a look.

This is what I see, not seeing the text you were referring to:

Does the text only appear on the backend?

    Let me know!

Apologies if I was not clear. Don’t click the post, read the text just below the post’s image on the Home page.

    Not the post itself.

The text appears only on the home page where a couple posts are listed.

Go to the home page. Scroll to see the two posts side-by-side. Read the text below the one labeled “Bamboo.”

Supposed to be the first few words of the post. What I see is the extra text just after the first few words.

    BAMBOO

COMING SOON! BAMBOO: A Post-Apocalyptic Odyssey. An upcoming cli-fi novel by Clark Hilton.

Also, if you continue scrolling, I have the same posts again (a mistake on my part), BUT again the post “Bamboo” has some extra text there.

Please take another look. Much appreciated.

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding, I get it now 🙂

The issue occurs because the except length you set is more than the entire Bamboo post’s content.

As the pop-up is added into the content area as well, its text will be outputted as the excerpt.

    The solution would be:

    1. Set a shorter excerpt length.

    2. Add more content to the posts.

    3. Maybe there’s a setting in the pop up plugin to NOT add it to the content area, for this, better to reach out to the plugin’s support 🙂

    Hi Ying,

I set the excerpt length to a shorter number of words, and that hides the pop-up text.

I think this is a good solution until I hear back from the support for that pop-up plugin.

Looking at the pop-up plugin, I have not found any settings for eliminating it from the content area, yet.

    Thanks for your help!
