First thank you for this great theme and your fantastic support! I am having an issue, my website gets many thousands of comments on posts and therefore I have enabled the option ” Break comments into pages with 100 top level comments per page and the last page displayed by default.
However, clicking on “Older Comments” does not actually load the older comments. Clicking it a second time, simply redirects the user to the # of the exact same page.
I did research and am fairly certain this is caused by the theme (see for example: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/problem-with-break-comments-into-pages-setting/). Please note that I tried checking for plugin conflicts (I turned the off plugins) but the problem persisted
Would you possibly know of any fix for this problem?

Hello there,
I tried clicking on the “Older Comments” and it seemed to work from my end.
Can you take screenshots of the issue from your end for reference? Uploading Screenshots: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots

Hi Fernando,
When you click “Older Comments” it simply shows you the exact same comment page, despite that post having thousands of comments. Also, can you try clicking it a second time? It will simply redirect you back to the top of the comments section. Please confirm if you were able to replicate the issue!

Edit: you’re correct! It seems the Lazy Load for Comments plugin was causing this. Very strange as I’m certain I had disabled it yesterday to test, must have missed something.
Thanks so much for the help you guys are above fantastic!
In this case would you know how to add any Generatepress “lazy loading” feature to the comments?

The first step when running into a strange issue like this is always to disable all plugins except GP premium and GenerateBlocks as suggested in #1 here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/The comment system is a handled by WP core so it’s nearly impossible for this to be a theme issue.
In this case would you know how to add any Generatepress “lazy loading” feature to the comments?
You would need a third-party plugin – hopefully one that doesn’t cause an issue 😉
