Julie
Hello,
I am trying to work out all of the site kit and adsense stuff so I can begin running ads on my site.
When I go to Site Kit-Monetization, I click on “complete setup”. I then get an adsense block that says, “Your account isn’t ready to show ads yet
You need to fix some things before we can connect Site Kit to your AdSense account.”Under that update, there is a “Review Adsense Account” button. When I click that, it takes me to my adsense account, which give me the following info: “Getting your site ready to show ads. Nice work, you’ve completed all the steps.”
When I go to my sites on adsense, my website is listed and has a status of “getting ready”.
I am unclear if there is something I need to do to my website due to the message that read “Your account isn’t ready to show ads yet
You need to fix some things before we can connect Site Kit to your AdSense account.” However, when I go to my site status, it appears as though it is still in the review process.I am under the impression that Site Kit is supposed to add the correct code to my site. Is it possible that still needs to be done manually by me? How can I check to make sure the ad code has been added to my pages?
I am just unclear if there are things I need to fix that I am unaware of or if it is just taking a bit of time to get my site approved. I am pretty confused by all of this. Hope you can help me out! Thanks so much!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
it may be a case that the data from one service eg. adSense has yet to propagate the various networks so it can be seen and validated by other services. Which can take several hours up to several days in some cases.
You should also ensure that you have not added adverts codes by any other means on your site. It has to be in one place only.
If you have been waiting a few days since the above notices, then you may want to try clearing any caches ( plugins or serverside ) and refresh the CDN ( if applicable ) and check your site in an incognito/private browser.
If the issue persists then reach out to the Sitekit plugin developers, as it could be an issue with the plugin setup.

Thank you for the reply. I am not even sure how to check to see if any other advert codes have been added to my site somewhere. Do you have any recommendations on how I can check?

Hi Julie,
Advertisement codes are usually added manually through functions.php, a plugin like Code Snippets, or through a GP Premium Hook Element. You can check if any code for ads is added through any of these ways.
Would you recall adding any code for ads in such a way?
Or, do you have another plugin for ads?

Hiya. I have site kit. I have never manually entered anything. I wouldn’t even know how to do that lol. On my google adsense, I have turned on the automatic ads toggle on adsense but I’ve never done anything else that I know of. At least I’ve never manually entered anything.
On my adsense page, my website is listed as one of my sites, but the notification says, “Getting ready.” There is also this following info in the notifications:
“Please bear with us! This usually takes a few days, but in some cases can take up to 2 weeks. We’ll notify you as soon as we’ve run some checks on your site.
Make sure you don’t remove your site and resubmit it because this can delay the process.
In the meantime, place the code on every page you want ads to appear. After our checks are complete, your site will be ready to show ads.”I have never manually placed any codes but I was with the understanding that Site Kit places the code for me? Wow, this is all so confusing. I submitted my site almost two weeks ago for approval and have not gotten any notifications that is hasn’t been approved so is it possible they are not done reviewing my site?
Thank you so much for attempting to help with this. I’m way in over my head over here. 🙂

I see. If that’s the case, as mentioned by David, it would be best to reach out to the Sitekit plugin developers, as it could be an issue with the plugin setup.
You’re welcome, Julie, and hope it goes well.
