Hello there,
All my images uploaded on my blog are PNGs and JPGs. 2 days ago suddenly they are all converting into WEBP when I go to save an image from my blog. It saves as WEBP.
This creates a problem with my SHORTPIXEL plugin where I optimize all my images. I use it to optimize my PNGs and JPGs but now when I press OPTIMIZE it says UNSUPPORTED FORMAT since the plugin sees the images as WEBP.
I just want your help to know why my JPGs and PNGs are converting into WEBPs on the front end of the site.
CHECK THIS GOOGLE DEVELOPER CONSOLE IMAGE FROM ONE OF MY POSTS. https://ibb.co/FqN5g7R
I am so confused because I didn’t change a single thing. No new plugins not changed settings no nothing.
I am currently in contact with SHORTPIXEL and EZOIC too, but I wanna inform you too cause maybe this is happening from generatepress.
Another thing you should know is that when I download my images from an FTP they download as JPGs and PNGs. (as they should)… so something converts them into webp and I can’t find out what.
Can you please help? I am losing my mind over this. I even deactivate all my plugins and my images are still WEBP in the front end…
I would really appreciate it if you take a look at my problem…

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
its not a there related issue, we don’t do anything with your media files, check with Ezoic, i believe their leap plugin or server optimizations include webp conversion

Its not LEAP that’s the thing. I even disabled LEAP, cleared the cache and the problem is still there. I don’t know whats going on and I thought you could take a look into this too.
So far I have tried these:
– Deactivated all my plugins
– Deactivated LEAP
– Deactivated CDNStill my images are WEBP in the front end.
I even looked into my .HTACCESS file to see if there was something there that converts them but no!Also checked with FTP to see if I find any suspicious files but nothing so far…
I am losing my mind over this :/

StaffCustomer SupportI checked out the network resources being loaded to see where the image was being fetched from – see here:
https://www.screencast.com/t/WkKAhcnFa4
See in the URL there is this query string:
?ezimgfmt=ng%3Awebp%2Fngcb2%2Frs%3Adevice%2Frscb2-1That
?ezimgfmt....is Ezoics code. Its telling the browser to get the webp image from a source if its making. You need to speak to Ezoic and ask them how to remove that.

Thanks a lot. It was EZOIC after all!
You helped a lot! I appreciate it!
