I only want to use featured images for google SERPS and in the blog archives pages. I currently have a single post hero photo set, but whenever I upload a featured image to the post it automatically replaces the single post here image.

I have tried the suggestions from other similar posts and they don’t work, namely:
    1. In Appearance > GeneratePress, activate the Blog module.
    2. Customizer > Layout > Blog —> Featured Images. There are 3 tabs Archives, Posts and Pages.
Select each tab and uncheck Display Featured Image where it is applicable

Even though I disable featured images, it still displays.

The only “solution” seems to be deactivating the “Elements” Module entirely… but that changes the entire site format.

    Thank you!

    Hi David,

I want to display the image I’ve set as the single post hero without overriding it when I add a featured image to the post.
