Bruno
Hi,
I’m using GeneratePress since quite a long time (2017). My website https://www.blt-avocat-nantes.fr/ uses old html widget customisation, so I want to use the new one (i can’t see the code without clicking on it with the old one).It works quite well for the sidebar widget (i have tried it on a staging site), because my background color goes well with my fonts colors.
But for my bottom widgets, I get black or blue titles on a blue background.
How can I customise the colors there ? I’ll need for sure to do it for the titles but I’ll perhaps have to do it aswell for the links, in order to get a better color contrast.
Thanks.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
just to be clear, do you want to use the Block Widgets ?
January 23, 2023 at 2:05 am #2505516Bruno
Hi,
Yes, I want to use the Block Widgets.January 23, 2023 at 5:12 am #2505721David
StaffCustomer SupportOK, so with Block Widgets, WordPress removes the Widget Title option on most block widgets.
So now you have to:1. add a Group block
2. inside the group block add a Heading
3. add any other content below the heading. However if you want real styling control for your widgets, use our GenerateBlocks Plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/generateblocks/Then you can use a:
1. GenerateBlocks Container Block instead of the Group Block
2. GenerateBlocks Headline Block instead of the Heading Block. Those blocks have full styling controls built in to set typography, colors and spacing.
Otherwise it will involve some CSS.
If you want to use CSS, then can i see your staging site with the problem blocks in place ?January 23, 2023 at 7:44 am #2505889Bruno
Thanks for your help and your proposal.
There is no real emergency as my old blocks still work. It’s just a matter of using a code as clean and up to date as possible and be able to do it myself in order not to be dependent of someone else.
So I’ll try to use your GenerateBlocks Plugin and will learn how it works. If I need help, I’ll come to you.January 23, 2023 at 10:08 am #2506172David

Hi David,
I come back to you now I have more time to handle this question and improve my websites.
I have installed GenerateBlocks and have a look at the documentation. Is there a way to convert my existing pages to GenerateBlocks ones or do I have to create brand new ones ?
I need something looking like https://www.blt-avocat-nantes.fr/ but with a better control on the right margin and bottom (titles, colors, etc.)February 18, 2023 at 6:39 am #2537881David
StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
for the Site Footer, you can build the entire footer using GenerateBlocks and GP Block Element:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-site-footer/
For the Sidebar, go to Appearance > Widgets and use the block editor there to design your widgets using GenerateBlocks
