Hey guys, GeneratePress theme is still being suppressed by the AMP plugin. I have the GP AMP plugin active but it’s not doing anything for the theme. Can we get a solution for this as we have a lifetime license and need AMP to be valid across our site. It’s been ongoing for the last 6 months.

Error on AMP page in WP: https://tinyurl.com/2r3gxx8w

    Thanks.

    Try Transitional.

Standard templates only works if the Theme ( and the Plugins ) provide AMP Templates and AMP functions.
    And GP doesn’t provide those.

    Hi there,

When I go to your site and enable AMP (?amp), then click “View Source”, I’m not seeing the generate-a11y script being added to the page.

You can actually see our AMP for GP plugin removing this script here: https://github.com/tomusborne/amp-for-generatepress/blob/master/amp-for-generatepress.php#L463

Can you double-check that the error you screenshotted is still valid?

No, I still get the same error. Can you please get this figured out.

YMMV will definitely vary with AMP which I assume you are using for SEO?

I’ve been doing SEO for years and I’ve never seen a genuine case for rankings or indexation success based on AMP alone. In fact, I rarely even hear of it anymore…

I’d wager that your usage of AMP is 100% determined by your market and niche, i.e. if you are in a hyper-competitive space then sure, AMP ought to help (depending on what CWV metrics your competitors have) but I personally wouldn’t kick the ass out of it…

    Focus on E-E-A-T < that’s what G wants to see in 2023

Does it help? Sure – but will it propel you to high SERPs? I have my doubts.

Just my un-asked for two cents 🙂

I tested a couple of the URLs of your site eg.

    https://search.google.com/test/amp/result?id=WfDpKACQbkwWLWQD-Vwyjg

And they all passed the AMP test, theres a chance that the plugin is throwing a false positive when testing the site.
Can you ask the plugin author to confirm what Tom said is correct and to validate the tests ?
