James
I have created a new header element, uploaded an image and assigned it to appear on the “Front Page” only. Yet, I cannot ‘see’ anything there. I must be missing a step somewhere.
This is for my site The Miramichi ReaderDecember 29, 2022 at 4:24 pm #2477406Leo
StaffCustomer SupportHi James,
Can you clear and disable your caching plugin first?
Let me know 🙂

Cleared and disabled. No joy.

StaffCustomer SupportCan you show me a screenshot of your header element setup?
And have you considered using a block element page hero instead since you are using blocks already?

I tried the block element page hero, but ended up with a black area where the image was to appear. I simply want to put a new header image in place of my site title and tagline on the front page only (for now). I have done it before, but I must be missing something, Leo.

Hi James,
You’ll need to add Top and Bottom paddings for it to appear. You can refer to this article for more information: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
For Block Element – Page Heroes, here’s an article you can refer to: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks! I just needed some content, it seems. Now to work on the padding.

Actually, now I need to disable it on mobile where it no longer fits. Is it better to use the Block Element?

Yes, personally, I would recommend using a Block Element – Page Hero. It’s the newer method of creating Page Heroes, and it’s much easier to edit.
You can also easily add
hide-on-mobileclass to a specific Block so that it’s hidden on mobile.Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/responsive-display/#using-our-hide-on-classes

I will give it a look and start a new topic if need be. Thanks again!
