So on the homepage of my website, we’re running a post grid and all the posts in the grid having H2 titles. Normally that would be fine, but we don’t have an H1, so is there a way to make the first post’s title an H1 and keep the rest as H2’s.

    Hi Cori,

The homepage h1 should be the Site title, I would not suggest changing the first post’s h2 title to h1.

You can use a Block element - page hero to add an H1 to the homepage.

So we’re not using blocks on the homepage. It’s just the standard pulling on the last ten posts in the settings instead of pulling a specific page out. So how can I add a block or even just some text on top of the posts without creating a page?

    Hi there,

    you can:

    1. Create a new Block Element in Appearance > Elements:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-hook/

    2. Set the Hook to before_main_content

    3. Add your H1 Title using a Heading or GB Headline Block.

    4. Set the Display Rules to: Front Page

I added the element but no change occurred on the homepage. It’s still the same.

    Hi Cori,

I can’t see the Element added to your site. Did you delete it? If so, can you recreate it in Appearance > Elements, and we’ll re-check?

I brought it back but still not seeing anything.

I can see it here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/9ZuzmDmL

Is that it? If you’re not seeing it, can you try clearing the cache of your browser? If that doesn’t work, try using a different browser to test.
