Hi guys,
I am trying to create some ‘theme templates’ which have post layouts, local patterns, elements, global styles and page layouts which I can later simply import on new WordPress installations running GP to get up and running quickly.
Is the way to do this to create all my layouts, elements, local patterns etc – and before adding site specific content, simply using WordPress’s native Export?
Then when I want to use this theme template, is it as simple as Importing it using WordPress’s native function?

Hi there,
Elements, Local Patterns and Global Styles are all Custom Post Types, so those can be exported and imported using the WP Export function. But you would have to do each post type individually.
You would also need to export / import the GeneratePress settings.
Personally i would use a plugin like Duplicator to move the whole site in one go, or check with your host as many offer a blueprint option that allows a new install to built off of an existing site.
