[Resolved] Emails Templates WooCommerce

Hi Dan,

GP never added any WooCommerce templates. That’s not something themes should do.

Let me know if I’m missing something here.

we don’t and never have added those folders. In either GP or GPP.

That notice is telling you where to add the files in the current Theme folder.
But you can’t add folders to the parent theme as those will get removed when the theme gets updated.

You will need to:

1. Install a Child Theme
2. Access the child theme folder on your server eg. /wp-content/themes/generatepress_child
3. Add the necessary parent folder titled woocommerce inside, and then email folder inside that.

Then you can make copies of the woo templates and put them in the necessary folders.

This way when the Theme is updated you won’t lose those templates.

I am not sure what you mean by the releases version ?

If its in regards to the Woocommerce email templates; i can assure you that neither GP Theme or GPP Plugin includes those templates and they never have done.

General rules:
1. We do not add our own Woocommerce templates to the theme or GPP Premium. We leave them in Woocomemrce.

2. You should never edit or add to the files in a WordPress Theme or Plugin.
Apart from risking breaking the site, any theme or plugin that uses the WP updating function will get 100% overwritten when an update happens. Meaning any changes you make or files you add will be lost.

3. You should use a Child Theme if you want to add your own functions or create templates such as the Woo email one.
