Brian
Ran into a strange problem with the widget customizer that was very frustrating. Sometimes (not always) when I modify a footer widget (e.g. to change the font weight of a header), the changes don’t show up after I click update. If I go to some other machine, and refresh the page, the changes to the widget are shown. But on the machine where I did the widget editing, the changes don’t show up unless I log out of the back end, and then log back in. I was able to reproduce the issue on Firefox and on Brave for Windows.
What can I share to help pin this issue down?
The URL is https://mtfreedombc.org
I can give you temporary admin access if desired unless this is already a known issue. It may be an issue with WordPress itself. No way to tell because the widget customizer in the theme doesn’t give me some of the configuration options I’m trying to apply to the footer widgets.

Hi Brian,
From your description, it seems like a device-related caching issue. What specific change did you make? If it’s also showing correctly on my end, then it’s likely a device, browser, network, or some other form of caching.
To check if it’s Browser caching can you try installing a different Browser like Google Chrome to test?

Hi Fernando,
Yes, it could be a caching issue. The specific changes were typography tweaks for header and paragraph blocks, alignment of items in row and widget group blocks, movement of items into and out of widget group blocks, etc. There were a lot of things. I did try using another browser. Ordinarily, I use Firefox developers’ edition, but I also tested the issue with Brave (not Chrome, but pretty darn close). The next time the issue shows up, I will try flushing the browser cache, and see if that fixes it. It’s really just an inconvenience, but I was pulling my hair out because the changes I was making weren’t showing up when I visited the site. Now that I know I can work around the issue by logging out and back in, and can test the changes on my phone it’s just an inconvenience. Had me going for a while, though. I also ran into an issue with Firefox when I tried to add an image to a row item in the widget group, it wouldn’t open up the media center to let me select the image. It wouldn’t let me upload an image either. But when I started using Brave, that issue went away, so that’s definitely in Mozilla’s court as so many things seem to be lately. I can try it with Edge as well. I think you may as well close this issue, because I won’t get back to messing around with the widgets until I get the rest of the site built.

I see. Another thing you could do, if it’s indeed a Browser caching issue, is to open an incognito/private window. Newly opened incognito windows of browsers shouldn’t have stored cache. Searching through Google, the shortcut to open such a window on Brave is CTRL+Shift+N on desktop.
