We use PublishPress Revisions so we can work on updates to already published content without affecting the live content. It also allows us to schedule these content revisions for a later time.

It looks like this plugin does not work with GeneratePress Elements. Is this something that GeneratePress would need to work on adding compatibility for, would it be a PublishPress effort, or both?

If it’s something that needs to be done on the GeneratePress side, is it possible this would come in a future release? Or is there similar functionality available with GeneratePress Elements?

    Thanks for your help/insight.

    Hi there,

i can’t say for certain whether it will make a difference but we are looking at enabling Revisions for the Elements CPT in a future update. If Publishpress works with core revisions then that may work.

I appreciate the response. I guess I’ll find out. I know PublishPress works for custom post types in general, so maybe it will just start working.

Though it may run into an issue with previewing the revision…

    I’ll stay tuned. Thanks!

Yeah , i am not sure how the preview will work on that.
Out of interest how would you plan to use it with Elements ?

We would use it to be able to work on revisions to Elements without affecting the live site, and then launch those revisions when they are ready. We do the same thing with a custom post type we made as our own kind of reusable block (we found the default WordPress reusable blocks lacking and didn’t have GP Premium at the time). It works great for that, but we are evaluating leveraging Elements as an alternative to our custom post type, especially since it would be easier to work with for the theme building aspect.
